Who doesn’t like an inexpensive good pedicure? Now get salon-like experience by doing pedicure at home. With winters knocking our door, we welcome with dry chapped heels that are quite painful. Sometimes moisturizing is not enough and our feet crave for our attention. Here is step by step guide on how to give yourself a luxurious pedicure at home.

Pedicure Procedure At Home:

All you need

  • A tub of warm water
  • Towel
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • A pumice stone or foot file
  • Epsom salt
  • Shampoo or body wash
  • Lemon juice or slices of lemon
  • Any aromatherapy oil
  • Some rose petals
  • Foot Scrub
  • Cuticle cream
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Nail clipper
  • Nail file
  • Nail polish
  • Cotton pads

How To Do:

1. Remove All Leftover Nail Polish:

The first step is to remove any leftover nail polish by using a cotton pad soaked in remover. You can repeat this process for a few times depending on the stubbornness of your nail paint. After that trim your nails with a nail clipper. It’s advisable to avoid rounding the corners or you will end up with painful ingrown nails. Use a nail file to give the desired shape your nails.

2. Soak And Exfoliate:

Soak your feet for approx 10-15 minutes in a tub filled with warm water, add  1-2 tablespoons of Epsom salt. You can add 3-4 drops of aromatherapy oil of your choice, I prefer lavender essential oil which calms down the nerves giving you unbelievably relaxing spa-like experience. You can add some rose petals for added benefits. Now throw some slices of lemon or lemon juice into your water that will help soften your cuticles and somehow helps in removing tan.

3. Remove Dead Skin:

After the soak, take out your feet and pat it dry with your towel. Add some cuticle cream on your toes. While the cuticle cream dries, you can use a pumice stone or foot file to remove rough, dry and cracked skin from your heels. Now remove the cream from toes and push your cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Make sure not to cut your cuticles as it may lead to infection. Now use a body scrub to treat your legs and feet. Exfoliation is the best way to remove dead skin cells so we shouldn’t skip this step. You can go for any homemade scrub. I prefer using this super easy mixture of coffee grounds, sugar and olive oil. 4. Moisturize Your Feet:

After relaxing soak, pat your feet dry and now its time to pamper your legs and feet with a heavy moisturizer . Give a soothing massage to your feet, ankles and calf muscles for about 10 minutes.

5. Polish Your Nails:

You have given so much effort in treating your feet and now is the time to glam up your nails. Use a toe separator to avoid any smudges, apply base coat on your toenail and let it dry. Then use your favorite nail polish to coat your nails. For best results apply 2 layers of coat allowing each of them to dry. Finish it off with a base coat to give that salon like glossy look. Sit Back And Relax !!!!
